Aimed at gay men all over the world, especially those in busy city centres, GayMaleJournal.org is an important online resource offering no-nonsense, non-judgemental health information and news.

When we first began working with Diego at GayMaleJournal.org as a new client, he already had an older WordPress website that had been built by a cheap, far-away developer he found online. Plain-looking and difficult to navigate, the old website was not doing justice to the enormous amount of useful and informative content that he had been writing and compiling.

Diego wanted the new design to look “manly” — none of the stereotypical rainbows and pink/purple themes found on many other websites for a gay audience. We selected a palette of blues and grays for the new website, and reorganised the existing content into an expansive health library. The homepage displays an overview of the latest news articles grouped by category, and the custom glossary page makes it easy for users to learn more about specific terms used throughout the website. Knowing that Diego would continue to add new content after we were done with the initial setup and design, we did hands-on training with him so that he would be able to add text and images on both pages and posts.

We’re happy to report that Diego was thrilled with the new website! He told us that it provides a sleek, professional representation of the company and reflects the serious yet fun nature of the content. He commented that compared to the designers he had worked with in the past, ZPMNL was completely on board with his objectives and aesthetic, and helped bring his vision for GayMaleJournal.org to life. It was our pleasure and an an honour to work on such an important project!
